Amber -- no actual reference to FDR, I am just unaware of your actual name and it seemed to roll off the tongue. AND the race in Spokane is bound to have hills because, frankly, this place is COVERED in hills.
I missed last week due to a little thing I hate to call "The Boards" = took my last test on Friday = totally stressful.
Weight last Sunday: 201 lbs (no surprise)
Hours exercised: 8 hrs (includes riding to my work and back TWICE to estimate the amount of time needed to ride to work).
I have been described as rather stubborn. This is accurate. Apparently my weight is as stubborn as the body who harbors it. Don't worry. I am not getting discouraged. I am convinced this is all a result of increased muscle mass:
Weight: 200 lbs.
Budging from baseline? -- as far as I am concerned, I am merely bumping around the same place = +/- ZERO (even though it is technically + 2 lbs)
Hours exercised this week: 10.5 hrs
Exercise includes riding my bike to work (total of 7 miles per day x 4 days), hiking with the boys (abt 6 miles), and riding my bike to Fred Meyer to play with the Humane Society puppies (16 miles). None of those 10 hrs were anything less than strenuous. For those of you that don't know, my ride home is STRAIGHT up a hill.
In talking with my friend (Vanny) who started this diet thing at the same time as me and has now lost 8 lbs... I realized:
1. I just need to buck up and try harder
2. Just changing my diet (previous tactic) or just changing my exercise habits (current tactic) are not working
3. This week it is ON. I have already clocked 1.5 hrs today walking the boys and my bike is poised and ready to go for another ride tomorrow.
Come hell or high water this weight is coming off.
